DISSOCIATION BAND BIO
Dissociation are a three piece Extreme Metal/Death Metal band with members originally from Liverpool, Preston & Carlisle, but now based in Lancashire UK. The band was formed by Mike (Guitars) on 31st October 2003; and the band performed its first gig on the 20th April 2005, at Satan’s Hollow in Manchester.
The band continued gigging for the remainder of 2005, and quickly gained a reputation for being a fierce and brutally heavy live band. Dissociation quickly established a local fan base, and were soon selling out local venues and moving further a field to play around the UK area. At the end of 2005 Dissociation went into the studio and recorded their debut CD, “Pieces”.
On the 7th June 2006, Dissociation was main support for Thrash Godfather’s and Metallica/Megadeth main influences – DIAMOND HEAD, at their Witchwood gig in Ashton under Lyne.
The band was forced into a hiatus on the 5th July 2006, due to losing its drummer and spent most of the remaining year looking for a suitable replacement. During the hiatus the band continued on with two members (Mike & Naffy) and recorded their second CD, “Slaughtered” in June 2007.
In July 2007 Dissociation found a replacement drummer (Dan Barham), and recorded their first music video. The track for the music video was “Monster behind the Mask”, which was taken from the “Slaughtered” CD.
The bands intent is to take their influences, ranging from Death Metal, Grind, Thrash Metal, Doom, Heavy Metal and Industrial, and fuse them into a sound which is uniquely their own.
The bands aim first and foremost, is to write music which has heaviness and brutality at the fore, while still retaining groove and catchiness.
2008 has marked the return of the new and improved DISSOCIATION, the band has settled and the new line-up has seen the band playing some of the best live shows they have ever played.
DISSOCIATION's professionalism, precision and brutality, has earned them their first MANCHESTER ACADEMY gig, and the band have been booked to HEADLINE their first ever appearance.
2008 has also seen another strong addition to DISSOCIATION, in the form of second guitarist and ex VIOLENT HAZE man Matt Lindsay. Matt has come into the band and strengthened the bands rhythm section by adding his own heavy hand and enthusiasm.
At the same time Matt's recruitment has allowed original guitarist Mike a bit of respite from holding down the rhythm section and allowed him the time to inject more melody, harmony and more leads into the bands already tried and tested equation.
2009 will see DISSOCIATION's next music CD and video release, guitarist Mike has already written four of the new tracks, and second guitarist Matt will be co-writing the last four tracks with Mike for this release.
Judging by the demo tapes of new material, people can expect even heavier songs with more technicality, solos, melody, harmony, speed and time changes than ever before, but still retaining groove and their own unique sound.
